Victoria Falls Zimbabwe & Chobe National Park

This package consists of 3 nights in the historic town of Victoria Falls named after the falls which were first seen by Dr David Livingstone in 1855 and named it so after the queen of England and 3 nights in a private lodge in Chobe National Park.

Victoria Falls or Mosi-oa-Tunya (the smoke that thunders) in the local Kololo language is aptly described as one of the seven natural wonders of the world and a must see for any visitor to southern Africa. Located on the mighty Zambezi River the falls are 1.7km wide and 108 metres high and has an annual average flow of one million litres per second.

The Victoria Falls tour component includes a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River.  There is also an abundance of other activities you can book including walk with the lions, elephant back safaris, white water rafting, river cruises, helicopter rides, bungee jumping, jet boating, hiking, canoeing and fishing. Chobe National Park is 11,000 sq km in size and is home to Botswana’s most varied wildlife. Your lodge is located on the riverfront strip along the northern tier of the park and this area contains the largest concentration of wildlife. Chobe is famed with having the largest concentration of elephant in Africa but also have large herds of buffalo and regular sightings of lion, wild dog, puku, red lechwe, sable, giraffe and roan antelope. Your African safari tour includes daily game drives in the park and river cruises and game viewing by boat.

Day 1 – Arrive Victoria Falls
On arrival at Victoria Falls airport you will be met by your Wild Africa Travel Company representative and transferred to your Victoria Falls hotel for your 3 night stay. Both hotels are only a short walk to the falls and you have the chance to spend time witnessing its power.

Day 2 – Victoria Falls & Zambezi River Cruise
This morning is free to explore Victoria Falls and the surrounding area. In the late afternoon you will be taken on a sunset cruise of the Zambezi River which is a superb way to relax and enjoy the beauty of the River. Clients may have the opportunity to see a variety of game; including hippo, crocodile, elephant as well as enjoy the many different bird species. The Sunset cruise is very popular and includes finger snacks, beer, wine, local spirits and soft drinks. There are great photo opportunities against often-spectacular African sunsets.

Day 3 – Game Drive & Victoria Falls
Today is free to explore Victoria Falls and the surrounding area.

Day 4 – Victoria Falls to Chobe National Park
Your final opportunity to see the falls before checking out of your hotel and being transferred across the border into Botswana to your Chobe National Park Lodge for your 3 night stay.

Day 5 & 6 – Chobe National Park
Your days can be as adventurous or as relaxing as you wish as you have the option of early morning and late afternoon game drives with experienced guides through the park. Located on the Chobe River you can undertake water activities such as river cruises, fishing and canoeing.  You can also relax and wile away your time in the comforts of your lodge with its reading room, safari deck, bar, restaurant and swimming pool.

Day 7 – Depart Chobe National Park
After an early morning game drive check out of your lodge and you will be transferred to the Kasane airport and your flight to your next destination.

Superior Accommodation
The Kingdom at Victoria Falls

The Kingdom at Victoria Falls is an excellent destination for both individual travellers and families. The hotel was built on the edges of a man made lake, and it boasts 292 rooms and 4 suites. Outward facing rooms have views of the Victoria Falls National Park and World Heritage Site where wildlife can be seen roaming freely. The remainder of the rooms have views of the man-made lake and waterfalls. The Kingdom has its own food court offering a wide selection of meals, as well as offering its guests 3 swimming pools and a toddlers pool, a children’s play area and casino. The architecture of the Kingdom was inspired by the ancient kingdom of Munhumutapa, with great domes, pillars, and bridges over the many water features. The Victoria Falls are just 10 minutes walk away from the resort.


Chobe Safari Lodge

Chobe Safari Lodge is situated on the doorstep where four African countries meet Botswania, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Zambia and also on the banks of the Chobe River and each room has air-conditioning, satellite TV, and telephone, luxurious en-suite bath and shower facilities and each room has its own private balcony to enjoy views of the river.

Guests often take time to observe monkeys and mongoose.
A new restaurant hs been built which features two bars that give guests a choice of Sedudu Bar famous for beautiful sunsets and the Cocktail Bar which overlooks Caprivi flood plains.

Victoria Falls Hotel

The Victoria Falls Hotel, which is popularly known as ‘the grand old lady of the Falls, is situated within the Victoria Falls National Park, a World Heritage Site. The Edwardian-style five-star hotel, was built in 1904 and has been recently redecorated and fully refurbished to combine the old charm with the convenience of the new. The hotel is set in tropical gardens with palm trees, semi-tropical shrubs and lily ponds and it provides a tranquil and secluded setting that many guests seek. The famous Victoria Falls are just a ten-minute walk away using the hotels private pathway, and the smoke that thunders or ‘Mosi-O-Tunya’ in the local dialect, is clearly audible and visible from the hotel. First class service, with food and beverage choices and preparation that are second to none. The opulent Livingstone Room for fine dining and dancing, the Jungle Junction with its famous breakfast and dinner buffets and ethnic entertainment in the evenings, offer variety and wide choice. Stanley’s Terrace, with its clear view of the Victoria Falls Bridge which connects Zimbabwe with Zambia, is renowned for its cocktails and afternoon teas. Chobe Game Lodge

This 48 roomed lodge overlooks the Chobe River and Caprivi floodplains. The architecture is Moorish and graceful – high arches, barrel-vault ceilings and tiled floors creating an atmosphere of spaciousness and tranquility. All 48 rooms are tastefully furnished, each room with hand crafted Rhodesian teak furniture and walls decorated with original African carvings and paintings. The Lodge can accommodate up to 100 people in total luxury and caters for children of all ages.
Facilities within the lodge include a well-stocked curio shop, wildlife reference library and a stylish Tshwene bar with full-sized Victorian pool tables overlooking the floodplains. The Chobe Game Lodges boma (outdoor eating area enclosed by reed walls) is situated under large Mahogany trees on the banks of the Chobe River. Like the rooms, the boma has been furnished in teak and leather. Other facilities include a large swimming pool with a terrace, a riverside boma area where traditional dancers perform, a fully equipped conference room, a business centre, a stylish bar with an outside terrace overlooking the Chobe River and a cigar bar with a full sized billiard table. Meals are catered for at the terrace restaurant overlooking the Chobe River.
